Wezesha Tulinde AmaniEmpower to Sustain Peace

What we do

Eight ways we work for lasting peace.

Peace lasts when livelihoods, wellbeing, culture, fairness and the environment are cared for together.

01

Sustaining Peace

Building peaceful relationships between neighbours, families and communities.

Our founding purpose is to sustain peace among local communities. We support dialogue, mediation and reconciliation, and we link community members to the government and peace institutions that can help resolve disputes early, before they grow.

02

Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing

Raising awareness and encouraging healthy emotional wellbeing practices.

We raise awareness of mental health in our community and promote practices that strengthen emotional wellbeing, so that people feel able to talk, seek support and care for one another.

03

Livelihoods & Income Generation

Uplifting the economic status of members and their communities.

We create income-generating activities within the organisation to improve members' livelihoods, because economic strength is a foundation of lasting peace.

04

Culture & Heritage

Developing and upholding the best of our cultural, social and economic heritage.

We celebrate and carry forward the cultural, social and economic heritage of our members and their communities, using it as a source of identity, pride and unity.

05

Support for the Vulnerable

Standing with students from poor homes, orphans, widows, widowers and people living with HIV/AIDS.

We provide support to students from poverty-stricken homes, orphans, widows, widowers and people living with HIV/AIDS, so that no one is left behind.

06

Gender Equality

Equal address and treatment of all genders at family level.

We promote gender equality and the equal address and treatment of all genders at the family level within the community.

07

Environment & Tree Planting

Soil conservation and planting more trees.

We preserve our environment by promoting soil conservation and planting more trees in our surroundings.

08

Partnerships & Networks

Working with government, CBOs, NGOs, institutions and individuals.

We build a sustainable network with relevant stakeholders (government, organised groups, CBOs, NGOs, institutions and individuals) to help sustain peace in the community.
